Child Friendly Space Play Facilitator

SOS Children's Villages Belgium is looking for a Child Friendly Space Play Facilitator to join our team at Klein Kasteeltje/Petit Château, Fedasil center. In this role, you will help provide a warm and structured environment where children (ages 3–6) can play, explore, express themselves, and feel safe.

Working alongside another Play Facilitator and under the guidance of a project coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting children from migrant backgrounds, fostering their emotional well-being, and creating meaningful play experiences.

As a Play Facilitator you will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of the play materials for children from 3 till 6 years old
  • Organizing the intake sessions for the new families 
  • Supporting a group of children (maximum 5 children) during the free play 
  • Organizing opening and closing routine for the play activity
  • Providing a report about the group activity and your observations about children’ emotional condition and play preferences 
  • Keeping the Child Friendly Space orderly and clean
  • Taking active part during the team supervisions 
  • Establishing and supporting connection with the Fedasil workers and other partners 

 

You have the following profile & skills:

  • You have education in pedagogy, psychology or social work
  • You can work in a challenging environment 
  • You have experience for working with small children 
  • You can offer them a listening ear and identify their basic needs with warmth and sensitivity. 
  • You believe that following the children’s lead is the best way to help them to develop
  • You can inspire play; create space and time for many kinds of playful activities and adapt your role to match when children take the new challenge
  • You can help children to self-regulate and express their feelings 
  • You like to keep everything orderly and clean
  • You speak English and French
  • Any extra language is a plus

 

Our offer:

We offer a part-time 50% until 31.12.2025 (might be renewable).

Salary conditions according to Joint Committee 319.01.
